The Loretto Community comprises the canonically vowed members of the Loretto Congregation, the Co-members of the Loretto Community, and others with strong connections to Loretto through their work in Loretto projects, schools, ministries, and missions. For some time, the Community has realized that canonically vowed life is gradually fading away and that new forms of spiritual life are emerging.

In 2015, the Loretto Assembly (a gathering of all Loretto Community members for discussion and decision making) affirmed that Loretto needed to explore creating a nonprofit organization to which all could have an equal voice and participate equally. After a lot of discernment and discussion, we became Loretto Link in 2018. Since then, we have welcomed over 150 members, including vowed members and Co-members, and extended friends of the Loretto Community. “We are being called to something new. This is a time of evolution. It’s a time of letting go and letting in, a time of pain and of joy, a time when religious calling will be very different from the life we have known. We have to figure out how to respond to that urge to move forward.”

- Kim Klein, Loretto Link Board Member
